H
Magazine
'H' could stand for Honduras but stands of course for Hamburg. This international harbour city should not only be a recipient of goods, services and commodities. It could at least also be a container of ideas, articulations, thoughts, images and associations. Sebastian Hackenschmidt (art historian), Roger Willems (graphic designer) and Philippe Van Cauteren (curator) assume with the creation of the magazine 'H' this responsibility. In dialogue with some other consultants (a.o. Inga Beyer, Eddy De Vos, Marc Wortmann, Tanja Schwarz, Michael Doerner) a magazine is created which collects, recollects, assembles, rejects and recuperates unpublished and published texts, images and visual thoughts. 'H' will include contributions of international authors and will be operating outside the stringent redactional laws of magazines (length of texts, translation,....). Each number operates under a common 'denominator' which functions as a guiding principle. Parallel to these numbers special editions (Sonderausgaben) will be developed which have to be understood as something between a publication and an artist book. 80% of the magazine will be in German. Other texts will be available in English, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Arab or French.
